Your Guide In Synthetic Consciousness

By Helen Cox

Artificial intelligence is the common denominator to most screened films before. The inequality that these things give to the ordinary human person is more portrayed than the other way around. There are unbelievable reasons why people are afraid to the presence of such unnatural object. However, some would argue to this time that through these things, vials that could be used and precautionary measures for degenerative illnesses could be made available when they are created.

As absurd as it may sound, this invention could be possible in two years time. There is a website article suggests that synthetic consciousness could be achieved already when the scientists, who pioneered it, finishes their experimentation. No one would know from now the effects that the relation with a genetically engineered individual but there are studies that claims it has positive and negative outcomes.

The very first thing that must be considered is the ethical issues. For example, the problem in recognizing the rights of their living, owning a lot, and their intellectual property claims. Nobody has ever experienced talking to them because they are not yet alive. Which is why it has not been thoroughly discussed today.

The instances that could spring other debates is the needed aspects of their consciousness. Statements of theoreticians formulated various aspects that are deemed necessary to a robot. As of today, there are five facets that gained enough nods to famous scientists and professors around the world. It is mentioned here for the comfort of everyone.

One, awareness. For anyone who experiences having cognition of his action, does this. This is not the only definition it has because they are related with consciousness. Three kinds of this include, agency, sensory motor and goal. These given kinds create differentiation in their functions and must also be adaptable to any situation if robots will have this feature.

Memory comes second. This is defined as the one who duly keeps account on the personal events of someone. From this, another three is essential such as the rehearsal, learning and retrieval. Changes in the transient episodic, procedural and perceptual memories are stated in IDA thinking model. A robot must have this to effectively record any happening.

Third, learning. This is a necessity to the invented person. The conscious experience it gets is needed to represent and adopt to fresh or momentous events. If they would not have this, then the name itself is not given justice because he cannot think the way humans do. The AI should have evolved sensitivity when he encounters an unpredictable event.

Anticipation is the fourth. Predicting something in the future is a rated characteristic to experts. Evaluations being done and the act of selecting a draft from the current happening to the life of a bionic man be exhibited correctly. His decisions and decisions of other people to him has consequences that he should be able to identify. From this, he can be alerted to further unfortunate happening or yet, he can be able to convey a proper feeling for that situation.

Five, subjective experience. In psychology, this is called qualia. This ability wishes anyone to correctly manifest the senses when perceiving something. For example, the experience in tasting and apple must be recognized when he plans to eat the same fruit next time. The AI should remember this to differentiate other tastes of fruits. It poses a problem to computationalism and physicalism.
